Dance rooted in culture, connection, and lived experience
Dance has been part of my life since early childhood, shaping how I move, think, and teach. What I offer now is work grounded in experience, cultural understanding, and care, focused on depth, clarity, and meaningful connection ''

She brings a deeply personal, culturally informed approach to dance, rooted in Black traditions, musicality, and lived social history. Her work centres on authenticity, connection, and immersion. Inviting dancers to move beyond patterns and sequences and into meaning. Trisha explores the shared roots of African American vernacular dances, encouraging students to understand where movement comes from, how it feels, and why it matters.

Known for her engaging teaching style, Trisha creates spaces that are both energetic and joyful. Her background in music and formal training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap gives her teaching strong depth and understanding, especially in rhythm, helping students develop confidence, musicality, and their own expressive voice.

Short Bio for Blues Events:
Trisha is a UK based artist, educator, and creative director with decades of experience teaching and working internationally. Her work is rooted in Afropean cultural traditions and the wider Black diaspora, shaped by musicality, feeling, and lived social history. She has been part of the British Blues dance community for over 30 years, with deep, sustained engagement in spaces such as Shubin’s, the UK’s closest equivalent to the jook and juke joint culture of the US, where Blues dance has long been practised as a social, embodied, and communal form.

Her practice centres on authenticity, connection, and immersion. Trisha invites dancers to move beyond steps and structures into sensation, exploring weight, timing, texture, and emotional truth. Through blues music and related African American vernacular dances, she encourages students to understand where movement comes from, how it lives in the body, and why it carries meaning.
Known for her warm, grounded teaching style, Trisha creates expressive, human, and welcoming spaces. With a strong background in music and formal training in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and tap, rhythm and groove are at the heart of her teaching, helping dancers develop confidence, musical sensitivity, and an authentic personal voice rooted in Blues culture.
